Maryland murder suspect taught college writing

Joanna Joyce Findlay, accused of fatally shooting her husband inside their Southern Maryland home, is a native of Scotland who has taught at the University of Maryland's English Department since 2002, officials said Tuesday.

Findlay, 40, taught classes at the school's Professional Writing Program this year, officials said. She was not a tenure-track professor, a school spokesman said Tuesday.
